Best 4 Mile Hike

An amazing vista greeted me each time the trail turned a corner: unique rock formations, cascading streams, diverse trees, raptors, lizards, and a pond or two.
While the path I followed is four miles long, the loop could be accessed from its usual trailhead for a total of about 3.3 miles. The alternate access also adds about 200 feet of vertical to climb down to access the loop and 200 feet of vertical to climb up to return to our vehicle. It also adds several special views.

I will not mention here the name of the trail nor the park that surrounds it lest it become overly used. Unlike other destinations this park is not on a main road. The trailheads are at the top of a steep and tightly curved road that deters larger vehicles. Even so rarely was I alone on this trail.

If you have visited this park, say so below without even mentioning the nearest town.
