1 Thessalonians 2:11 As you know, we dealt with each one of you like a father with his children, 12 urging and encouraging you and pleading that you lead a life worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory.
I continue to be amazed at how people do not change. Nearly 2,000 years after Paul wrote this letter, parents continue to urge and encourage and plead that their children will live a life worthy of their talents. I suppose God looks at us, His children, and sees in each person qualities and talents we are not using to the best of our abilities, and through families and communities of faith urges and encourages and pleads for each person to live a life worthy of being a child of God. When we look at another person and see their God given abilities and urge and encourage and plead, we help build the kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven.
